Vendor Program Terms
Plain-English terms for the Contractor ToolStack Verified Vendor Profile and Category Sponsor programs: what you get, what it costs, what is never for sale.
1. Parties
These terms are between Contractor ToolStack, LLC ("we," "us," the operator of contractortoolstack.com) and the software vendor named on the intake form ("you"). Submitting the intake form and paying the first invoice is acceptance.
2. What you are buying
Verified Vendor Profile ($149 per month, or $1,290 per year): a vendor profile page at /vendors/<your-product>/ whose content you supply and can update by emailing us; a labeled "Sponsored" placement in the "Also consider" box on your category hub page, on head-to-head comparison pages in that category, and on the alternatives pages in that category; a license to display your Contractor ToolStack editorial rating badge on your own site if you hold an editorial score; same-day forwarding of reader recommendation requests in your category when the reader has asked for a vendor introduction; and a pricing and feature fact-check of your editorial review on request, up to once per quarter.
Vendor Basic ($99 per year): a vendor page at /vendors/<your-product>/ whose content you supply and can update by email, plus the right to post one current deal or promotion on it. No sponsored placement and no reader introductions are included.
Qualified introductions ($99 each for vendors without a Verified Vendor Profile; included for profile holders in their category): when a reader of our recommendation form asks to be introduced to a vendor, we forward their trade, crew size, timeline, current software, stated problem, and contact details. We forward only when the reader has ticked the introduction box. An introduction is not a guaranteed sale and is not refundable once sent.
Verified Review Campaign ($299 per 30-day campaign, plus reviewer incentives billed at cost): we invite license-verified contractors who use your product to review it on this site. Incentives are capped at $50 per reviewer, disclosed on each review, and offered for a review, not a positive review. Every review collected is published; campaigns do not alter the editorial score.
Category Sponsor ($399 per month, three-month minimum, one per category): everything above, plus a labeled "Sponsored" box at the top of your category hub page above the ranked chart, a labeled sponsor mention in the monthly reader email for that category, and a hands-on editorial review or review update started within 45 days of receiving a working account.
3. What is never for sale
No program buys a review, changes a score, moves a product in a ranking, softens a criticism, grants advance sight of a review, or removes a published review. Editorial coverage follows the rubric on How We Review. A sponsored review can score badly and will be published anyway. If that is a problem, do not buy the Category Sponsor program.
4. Labeling
Every paid placement is labeled "Sponsored" or "Vendor profile" where it appears. Links from paid placements carry rel="sponsored". We do not remove or hide these labels.
5. Content you supply
You are responsible for the accuracy of profile content, pricing, and claims you supply. We may decline or edit content that is false, misleading, defamatory, or that presents itself as editorial. We may add a factual "Editor's note" to a profile where your claims and our review disagree.
6. Billing and cancellation
Monthly programs bill in advance and renew month to month. Annual profiles bill in advance for twelve months. The Category Sponsor program has a three-month minimum, then renews monthly. Cancel by email to info@contractortoolstack.com at any time; the placement comes down at the end of the paid period. No refunds for partial periods, except that if we remove your placement for our own reasons (not a breach by you), we refund the unused portion.
7. Exclusivity
Category Sponsor is limited to one vendor per category hub, first come. Verified Vendor Profiles are not exclusive; "Also consider" boxes list every profiled vendor in the category, in alphabetical order.
8. Termination for cause
We may end a program immediately, with a refund of the unused portion, if you misrepresent the placement as editorial endorsement, use the badge without an editorial score or after it changes, or attempt to influence editorial staff. You may end it immediately, with a refund of the unused portion, if we fail to deliver a listed item within 14 days of your written notice.
9. Data
Reader recommendation requests are forwarded only when the reader has ticked the box asking for a vendor introduction. You agree to use that contact information only to respond to that request and to honor any opt-out.
10. Everything else
Louisiana law applies. Either party may update these terms with 30 days' notice by email; continued payment after that is acceptance. Questions: info@contractortoolstack.com.
