Housecall Pro Pricing 2026: the plans, the add-ons, and what you'll really pay.
Three plans from $59 to $299 a month on annual billing. Extra seats cost $75 to $100 each. A long add-on list, most of it unpriced. Here is the math at 1, 3, 5, and 10 users, the cheapest plan that's actually usable, and how the bill compares to Jobber, Workiz, and ServiceTitan at the same headcount. Every number checked against housecallpro.com/pricing in September 2026.
The Short Answer
Housecall Pro costs $59, $149, or $299 per month on annual billing ($79, $189, or $329 month-to-month) for Basic, Essentials, and MAX. Basic is one user. Essentials covers five, then $100 per extra user. MAX covers eight, then $75 per extra user. The 14-day trial is the MAX plan with no credit card. Essentials is the cheapest plan worth using for anyone with a second tech or a QuickBooks file; Basic is a solo plan and stays one. The real cost problem isn't the tiers, it's the add-ons: CSR AI, Campaigns, payroll, VoIP, websites, and vehicle GPS all sit outside the plan price, and most have no published number. A 10-person crew on MAX is $449/month before any of them.
What each tier actually gets you.
Three tiers with hard user caps. The job cycle (book, schedule, quote, invoice, collect) is on every plan. What you're buying as you move up is seats, QuickBooks, GPS, and then the API and the sales tools. Verified against housecallpro.com/pricing on September 10, 2026.

Included on all three plans per the September 2026 pricing page: live phone and chat support, the mobile app, card processing from 2.59% and 1% ACH, Spanish language, consumer and business financing access, and the AI team members (Analyst, Coach, Marketing). CSR AI call answering is not one of those; it's an add-on on every tier.
Verified September 2026 · two corrections
Two numbers on Housecall Pro's live page differ from what our full review and most older articles say. First, additional users are $100/month on Essentials and $75/month on MAX, not the $35 figure that circulated for a couple of years. Second, the "all plans include" list now reads "live phone and chat support", with "escalated phone support" reserved for MAX. Contractor reports through 2025 described lower-tier support as chat-first, so treat phone access on Basic and Essentials as something to test during your trial, not assume.

Our independent review
Capterra's value-for-money score of 4.6 tells you the day-to-day platform is worth the plan price. Trustpilot's 2.9 is mostly about billing and cancellation, which is a pricing-page problem, not a product problem. Both matter here. The full Housecall Pro review has the feature-by-feature breakdown.
Where the bill quietly doubles.
The pattern we hear most from contractors who leave: they signed up at $149 and were paying $300 to $400 six months later. That's the add-on list. Here is every add-on Housecall Pro's pricing page names, what we know about the cost, and which plans it's included on.
| Add-on | Included on | Published price | What we can say |
|---|---|---|---|
| CSR AI (call + chat answering) | No plan | Not published | Sales quote only. Third-party guesses run $100-$150/mo; unverified. |
| Sales Proposal Tool | MAX | "$40/mo value" | HCP's own label on the MAX card. Closest thing to a published add-on price. |
| Recurring Service Plans | MAX | Not published | Paid extra on Basic and Essentials. The HVAC maintenance-agreement feature. |
| Campaigns (email/SMS marketing) | MAX (per HCP marketing pages) | Not published | Postcards run $0.86-$1.09 per card on top, per HCP's marketing docs. |
| Pipeline | No plan | Not published | Sales-pipeline board. Listed as an add-on on the pricing page. |
| Voice (VoIP phone system) | No plan | Not published | Workiz bundles a phone system; HCP sells it separately. |
| Payroll · Accounting · Business Coaching | No plan | Not published | Three separate add-ons on the page. Gusto handles payroll if you'd rather not. |
| Websites · Vehicle GPS/Dashcams | No plan | Not published | Vehicle GPS is separate from the employee GPS included on Essentials. |
| Instapay (30-minute payout) | All plans (opt-in) | +1% per transaction | Plus $0.75 on transactions under $75. Per HCP payments docs, not the pricing page. |
Why "not published" matters
Of eleven named add-ons, one has a number next to it. Jobber publishes both of its add-ons ($99 AI Receptionist, $79 Marketing Suite). Workiz publishes per-user overages to the dollar. When you can't price the bundle before the sales call, you can't compare it, and that's the point. Get every add-on you'll use quoted in writing before you sign an annual term.
The cheaper path to AI answering
If CSR AI is the add-on you're eyeing, price the alternatives first. Upfirst ($24.95/mo) and Rosie ($49/mo) push calls into HCP through Zapier. Smith.ai starts at $95/mo AI-only with a direct HCP integration. None book as cleanly as CSR AI, but you'll know the number before you start. Full rundown in the review's AI section.
What you pay at 1, 3, 5, and 10 users.
Plan price plus the seats you actually need, shown both ways you can bill. Processing fees are listed separately because they scale with revenue, not headcount. Add-ons are left out on purpose; you can't add what isn't priced.
1 user
Solo plumber, owner does the books
1 login · ~$12K/mo revenue · invoices from the truck · no QuickBooks yet
- Basic · annual$59.00
- Basic · month-to-month$79.00
- Extra seatsn/a on Basic
- Card fees · ~$8K card-paid at 2.59%$207.20
The day you hand a QuickBooks file to a bookkeeper, this becomes Essentials at $149. Budget for that jump inside year one.
3 users
Owner + 2 techs, electrical service
3 logins · ~$35K/mo · QuickBooks Online · GPS on both trucks
- Essentials · annual (5 seats)$149.00
- Essentials · month-to-month$189.00
- Extra seats (2 unused)$0.00
- Card fees · ~$25K card-paid at 2.59%$647.50
Basic can't do this; it's one user. Three people means Essentials, and you get two spare seats for the next hires at no cost.
5 users
HVAC shop, 4 techs + office
5 logins · ~$70K/mo · QuickBooks · Instapay on Friday jobs · no maintenance plans yet
- Essentials · annual (5 seats, full)$149.00
- Essentials · month-to-month$189.00
- Card fees · ~$50K card-paid at 2.59%$1,295.00
- Instapay on $20K of that · +1%$200.00
$29.80 per user per month on annual. This is the headcount where Housecall Pro undercuts Jobber ($169) and Workiz ($275). Hire one more and you're at $249; hire two and MAX at $299 is cheaper.
10 users
Plumbing + HVAC, 8 techs + 2 office
10 logins · ~$150K/mo · service agreements · Sales Proposal Tool · API for a custom dashboard
- MAX · annual (8 seats)$299.00
- 2 extra seats × $75$150.00
- Same on month-to-month · $329 + $150$479.00
- Card fees · ~$100K card-paid at 2.59%$2,590.00
Essentials plus five extra seats would be $649, so MAX is the only sane choice at ten. Add CSR AI and you're likely past $550, but that's a guess until sales quotes you.
The seat break-even nobody explains
Because Essentials charges $100 per extra user and MAX charges $75, the crossover is sharp. Six users: Essentials + 1 = $249, still cheaper than MAX. Seven users: Essentials + 2 = $349, now $50 more than MAX at $299 with a seat to spare. Past that, MAX grows at $75 a head: 12 users is $599, 15 users is $824, 20 users is $1,199 a month on annual billing. Our older review's "12-person team at $439" was built on the retired $35 overage; the current number is $160 higher. If you're planning to pass 15 techs, the ServiceTitan comparison is the next read, not because it's cheaper but because HCP's per-seat curve stops making sense there.
Annual saves $240 to $480 a year, with a catch.
Housecall Pro's annual discount isn't a flat "two months free." It's a different dollar amount per tier, and Essentials gets the deepest cut. Here's each plan both ways, plus what you'd save over a year.
| Plan | Month-to-month | Annual (per mo) | Annual total | You save / yr |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $79/mo | $59/mo | $708 | $240 (25%) |
| Essentials | $189/mo | $149/mo | $1,788 | $480 (21%) |
| MAX | $329/mo | $299/mo | $3,588 | $360 (9%) |
The pricing page does not say whether the $75 and $100 extra-user rates change with billing cadence. We've assumed they don't. Ask before you sign if you're adding seats.
Stay monthly when
You just finished the trial and haven't run a full month of real jobs through it. Or your crew runs Android, where the 3.2-star app is a real risk you need to test in the field. The $40 Essentials premium for a couple of months is cheap insurance against a year-long commitment you regret. Trustpilot's 581 reviews at 2.9 stars are heavy on "charged after I cancelled," so know your exit before you lock in.
Switch to annual when
Techs are closing jobs on the app, QuickBooks is syncing clean, and Instapay has hit your account a few Fridays in a row. At that point you're staying, and on Essentials the $480 a year buys a lot of drill bits. Put your renewal date on the calendar 45 days out, and get the cancellation process in writing from support the day you switch.
The trial is MAX. The plan you should buy probably isn't.
Housecall Pro's trial is generous and creates a specific trap: you test the $299 tier for two weeks and then buy a plan that doesn't have half of what you tried. Here's how to run it, and which plan to land on.
Free trial · the facts
- ✓14 days, verbatim from the pricing page: "full access to all Housecall Pro features on our MAX plan for 14 days, absolutely free."
- ✓No credit card to start. That's confirmed on the live page, not just the marketing emails.
- ✓MAX features: Sales Proposal Tool, Recurring Service Plans, route optimization, API and webhooks, QuickBooks Online sync, escalated phone support.
- —Not in the trial: CSR AI and the other paid add-ons. You can't test AI call answering without a sales conversation.
- —No card means no auto-bill, which cuts both ways: your data doesn't disappear on day 15, but you'll need to pick a plan and pay to keep working.
Run it right: pick the plan you'll buy on day one, and only use that plan's features. Send five real invoices. Take one card payment with Instapay turned on. Sync QuickBooks if you'll be on Essentials or above. Put a tech on the Android app if that's what your crew carries.
Cheapest plan worth using · by situation
Solo, no bookkeeper, no second truck → Basic $59
It's a real plan. Booking, scheduling, quotes, invoices, 2.59% card processing, review requests, and the three included AI tools. You give up QuickBooks sync, GPS, and any chance of adding a user.
Anyone with a QuickBooks file or a second person → Essentials $149
This is the answer for most shops reading this page. Five seats, QuickBooks Online, employee GPS, flat-rate pricing tools, checklists, photo reports. Covers a 2 to 6 person operation cleanly.
7+ people, maintenance agreements, or API → MAX $299
Buy MAX for one of three reasons: Recurring Service Plans (HVAC and plumbing), the Sales Proposal Tool for good/better/best equipment quotes, or the API and webhooks for custom automation. Not for phone support; the live page now lists that on all plans.

Housecall Pro vs Jobber, Workiz, and ServiceTitan at your crew size.
Base plan plus the seats you'd need, annual billing where the vendor publishes it. Housecall Pro wins the 3 to 6 user middle, Jobber wins the ends, Workiz costs more but bundles the AI receptionist, and ServiceTitan is a different sport.
| Team size | Housecall Pro | Jobber | Workiz | ServiceTitan est. |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 user (solo) | $59 Basic | $29 Core | $0 Lite (2 users) | n/a, too small |

Housecall Pro: annual pricing from housecallpro.com/pricing, September 2026 (Basic $59 → Essentials $149, 5 users, +$100/user → MAX $299, 8 users, +$75/user). Jobber: annual-billing pricing from getjobber.com/pricing, verified September 2026 (Core $29 for 1, Connect $99 for 5, Grow $149 for 10, Plus $399 for 15, +$29/user); month-to-month runs $49 / $139 / $199 / $499. Full breakdown on our Jobber pricing page. Workiz: published April 2026 (Lite free for 2, Kickstart $225 for 3, Standard $275 for 5 +$46, Pro $325 for 5 +$54, annual). ServiceTitan: sales-quoted, $245-$300 per tech per month on Starter per user disclosures, plus $10K-$25K implementation for a 10-tech shop.
vs Jobber
Jobber is cheaper at 1 and 3 users and again at 10 and 15. HCP is cheaper at exactly 5. The bigger gap is add-ons: Jobber's two are priced ($99 AI Receptionist, $79 Marketing Suite); HCP's eleven mostly aren't. HCP wins on Instapay and Wisetack depth. Full Jobber vs Housecall Pro →
vs Workiz
Workiz costs $126 more than HCP at 5 users on Standard, $176 more on Pro. But Pro includes Genius Answering, the AI receptionist HCP sells as unpriced CSR AI, plus a built-in phone system HCP sells as the Voice add-on. If you'd buy both add-ons anyway, Workiz may net out cheaper. See the alternatives ranking →
vs ServiceTitan
Not a price comparison; it's a stage comparison. A 10-tech shop pays $449 on HCP MAX and roughly $2,450 to $4,000 on ServiceTitan before a $10K to $25K implementation. Under $1M revenue, HCP. Over 10 trucks with a real marketing budget, ServiceTitan starts to earn it. ServiceTitan vs Housecall Pro →
One more pairing people ask about: GoHighLevel isn't an HCP competitor, it's a marketing layer some shops run on top via Zapier. The GoHighLevel vs Housecall Pro breakdown covers when that stack beats buying HCP's Campaigns and CSR AI add-ons.
Three ways to pay less for Housecall Pro.
01
Skip Basic if you'll outgrow it in a year
Basic to Essentials is a $90 jump and a migration of habits. If a second tech or a QuickBooks file is coming, start on Essentials month-to-month at $189 and go annual when you're sure. You'll spend less than buying Basic annual and abandoning it.
02
Never buy a seventh seat on Essentials
Essentials + 2 users is $349. MAX is $299 with eight seats, the Sales Proposal Tool, Service Plans, and the API. The $100 overage makes MAX the cheaper plan at seven people. Sales won't always point this out.
03
Get every add-on quoted before annual
CSR AI, Campaigns, Voice, and Pipeline have no public price. Ask for the full bundle in writing, compare it to Jobber's $99 + $79 or Workiz Pro's bundled AI, then decide. The $300-to-$400-six-months-later story starts with signing before the quote.

How This Page Was Built
This pricing breakdown is research-based. Plan prices, user caps, extra-user rates, the trial terms, and the add-on list were read off housecallpro.com/pricing on September 10, 2026. Instapay and Wisetack fees come from Housecall Pro's payments documentation as cited in our review. Where the live page contradicted our earlier review (the $35 extra-user figure, phone support on lower tiers), the live page wins and the correction is called out above. Competitor numbers come from our own Jobber, Workiz, and ServiceTitan reviews and the Housecall Pro alternatives research, all dated 2026. Nothing on this page is a number we made up; where Housecall Pro doesn't publish a price, we say so.
The complete Housecall Pro review covers the AI Team Suite, the Instapay and Wisetack payment stack, the iOS-versus-Android app gap, integrations, and who it fits by trade. If you're deciding between platforms, start with Jobber vs Housecall Pro, then ServiceTitan vs Housecall Pro if you're past ten trucks, and the Housecall Pro alternatives page if the add-on model is what's pushing you out. The field service management hub has the full category ranking.
