“Most shops leaving ServiceTitan should land on Housecall Pro: it keeps the pricebook, service plans, and AI call answering you actually used, at $59 to $299 a month with a 14-day trial. If you are under four trucks, Jobber is cheaper and faster to set up. If what you miss is the dispatch board and built-in phones on a flat-tier plan, Workiz is the closest thing to ServiceTitan without the per-tech bill, though it moved to sales-quoted pricing in 2026, so get the number in writing.”
Housecall Pro for 4 to 15 trucks, Jobber under 4, Workiz if you want ServiceTitan-style dispatch and phones on a flat-tier plan (sales-quoted since 2026).
Why Contractors Leave ServiceTitan
Nobody searches for ServiceTitan alternatives because the software is bad. They search because the bill is. Here is what our ServiceTitan review documents:
- Per-tech pricing from $245 a month. User-reported numbers put Starter at $245 to $300 per tech, Essentials at $325 to $400, The Works at $400 to $500-plus. A 10-tech Essentials shop pays $3,250 to $4,000 a month before add-ons.
- Implementation fees of $5,000 to $50,000-plus. Most mid-size teams land between $10,000 and $25,000.
- No free trial. You sign a 12-month contract, sometimes 2 to 3 years, with early termination fees of $5,000 to $20,000 or more.
- 3 to 6 months to implement. That is our review’s number. Podium’s comparison page pegs it at 12 to 16 weeks. Either way, not next month.
- Overkill under 5 trucks. Multi-zone dispatch optimization and enterprise reporting only pay off with volume behind them.
- Support that does not scale down. A G2 reviewer in June 2025: “The product is complicated, which means you need help regularly, but their product support is TERRIBLE.”
- The daily friction. Counter sales need a fake dispatch to invoice. The inventory module gets abandoned. The QuickBooks sync needs babysitting.
A 10-tech shop’s year-one bill lands around $67,800 in our review’s worked example. Above $2M in revenue with an office manager who owns the platform, that can pay for itself. Below it, the seven platforms here do 60 to 85 percent of the job for 5 to 20 percent of the money.
The 7 ServiceTitan Alternatives, Ranked
Ranked by how much of the ServiceTitan workflow a residential shop keeps, cost at 5 and 10 techs, trial availability, and our rating. Commissions do not move the order.
Housecall Pro
Best Overall ServiceTitan AlternativeHousecall Pro is where most ServiceTitan refugees end up, because it keeps the parts of the workflow a residential shop uses every day and drops the parts you were paying for and ignoring.
What it costs. Basic is $59/month on annual billing ($79 monthly) for one user. Essentials is $149/month for up to 5 users and adds QuickBooks, GPS, and marketing. MAX is $299/month for 8 users, $75 per extra user, with advanced reporting, the API, and dedicated onboarding. Cards process from 2.59 percent. The 14-day trial runs on MAX features, no card required.
Where it beats ServiceTitan. A 5-tech shop on Essentials pays $149 a month against $1,600-plus for ServiceTitan Essentials, with no implementation fee and no contract. And the workflow is familiar: the price book takes Profit Rhino and The New Flat Rate libraries, Recurring Service Plans handle memberships, proposals are good/better/best on the tech’s phone. Instapay lands card payments in under 30 minutes, and Wisetack financing sits in the estimate. CSR AI call answering is a paid add-on. Setup takes 1 to 2 weeks.
Where it loses. No marketing attribution to completed revenue, no ML dispatch routing, basic reporting below MAX. Phone support and the API are MAX-only. The Android app rates 3.2/5. Trustpilot sits at 2.9/5 on 581 reviews with a billing-and-cancellation complaint pattern.
Todd C. of Black Mountain Air, two years in on service contracts: “It’s amazing how well it’s working for keeping repeat customers coming back.”
Switch to Housecall Pro if you run 4 to 15 trucks in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical, sell maintenance agreements, and want your current workflow at a tenth of the price.

Jobber
Best Value and Fastest SetupJobber is the highest-rated platform on this page and the cheapest way in. It also feels the least like ServiceTitan, which is either the point or the problem depending on your size.
What it costs. Core is $29/month billed annually ($49 month-to-month) for one user. Connect is $99 for 5 users, Grow $149 for 10, and Plus $399 for 15, all billed annually, then $29 per extra user. The AI Receptionist is $29/month. No contract required, 14-day trial, no card. Our review’s 6-person HVAC example on Grow plus AI Receptionist is about $178/month on annual billing, against roughly $24,000-plus a year in subscription alone on ServiceTitan Essentials.
Where it beats ServiceTitan. Speed. Most teams are running in under a week, and a crew that is not tech-savvy picks up the app in a day or two. The mobile app is the best in the category, which matters because ServiceTitan’s field app is its most polarizing piece. Our review’s line: Jobber does 80 percent of what ServiceTitan does at 20 percent of the price.
Where it loses. Dispatch is manual drag-and-drop; at 15-plus techs across a wide area you will feel it. Reporting is basic, with no first-time fix rate or lifetime value. The QuickBooks sync drops roughly 2 percent of line items. No real flat-rate book depth, and it treats a $50,000 job like a $500 one.
Switch to Jobber if you have 1 to 8 trucks, want to be live next week, and would rather have the best mobile app than the deepest dispatch board.
Workiz
Closest to ServiceTitan's Dispatch and PhonesIf what you will miss about ServiceTitan is the dispatch board and the phones, Workiz is the alternative built for you. Genius Answering, its AI receptionist, has been in production since December 2024; as of 2026 it is sold as a separate add-on, and the plans themselves are sales-quoted.
What it costs. Workiz moved to sales-quoted pricing in 2026: the pricing page lists Standard, Pro, and Ultimate behind a “Request pricing” button with no dollar amounts, and the free Lite tier and Kickstart are gone. Last published (April 2026): Kickstart $225/month (annual) with 3 users; Standard $275 with 5 users, extra users $46 annual or $55 monthly; Pro $325 with 5 users, extra users $54 or $65, with inventory and advanced reporting. On those rates a 10-tech shop on Pro was $595/month, $7,140 a year, against $39,000 to $48,000 a year plus implementation for ServiceTitan Essentials; have Workiz confirm on your quote. Genius Answering, Genius Phone, and Genius Marketing are sold separately. The 7-day trial needs no card.
Where it beats ServiceTitan. Genius Answering answers in English, Spanish, or French, handles three calls at once, and books jobs directly. It’s a separate add-on, and so is ServiceTitan’s AI voice agent via Contact Center Pro or a usage add-on, but the Workiz version has the longer production record. The phone system with Call Insights transcription and the dispatch board with skill and live GPS filters are the parts that feel like ServiceTitan; confirm on your quote which phone features sit in the plan and which in the Genius Phone add-on. Implementation is days.
Where it loses. The phone system is the dominant complaint in critical Capterra reviews: hold music, nobody on the line. Workiz Pay processing rates are not published; get a written rate sheet. Per-user overages stack past 5 techs: on the last published rates, 15 techs on Pro was $865/month where Service Fusion is still $325 flat, and since 2026 you can’t check that without a sales call. No native integrations with any major CRM, and reporting is well short of the Marketing Scorecard.
Switch to Workiz if you have 3 to 25 trucks, lose leads to missed calls, want ServiceTitan-style dispatch and phones on a flat-tier plan with users included, and are fine taking a sales call to get it priced.
Service Fusion
Best Flat Price for Bigger CrewsService Fusion is the anti-ServiceTitan on pricing. Every plan includes unlimited users, so the bill is the same whether you dispatch 5 techs or 25.
What it costs. Starter is $208/month annual ($245 monthly). Plus is $325 annual ($382 monthly) and adds estimates, advanced reporting, and job photos. Pro is $533 annual ($627 monthly). Annual billing saves 15 percent, but month-to-month is available on every plan. Payments run through Stripe at standard rates. A 10-tech shop on Plus pays $3,900 a year; ServiceTitan Essentials for the same crew is $39,000 to $48,000 plus implementation. No free trial, demo only.
Where it beats ServiceTitan. Cost at scale with no contract to escape. The QuickBooks integration is the most-praised feature across 308 Capterra reviews and covers Online, Desktop, Online Advanced, and Enterprise, broader than ServiceTitan’s QuickBooks-plus-Intacct coverage. Sheri Merkling of Elk River Heating & A/C: “We like the perfect syncs with QuickBooks, a real plus.” The dispatch grid is capacity-aware with nearest-tech suggestions, and ServiceCall.ai adds call recording, voicemail transcription, and marketing-source attribution.
Where it loses. No AI dispatcher or receptionist; ServiceCall.ai is 2022-era VoIP. Integrations outside QuickBooks are thin: no CompanyCam, Wisetack, or GoHighLevel. Mobile reliability is a recurring complaint, especially offline. Feature velocity has slowed since the EverCommerce acquisition, and job costing, inventory, and the customer portal are add-ons with unpublished pricing.
Switch to Service Fusion if you have 8 to 25 techs on QuickBooks, do not need AI answering today, and want one flat number on the invoice.

FieldPulse
Best for Multi-Trade ShopsFieldPulse has the largest verified review base in the category, 4.8/5 across 2,537 G2 reviews. It sits fifth for one reason: like ServiceTitan, it will not let you try it or tell you the price up front.
What it costs. Not published. Third-party reports put Essentials around $65 per user per month, Professional around $90, Premium around $115. Operator AI, Chat AI, VoIP, and fleet tracking are separate add-ons. Payments are Square only. Our review’s 5-tech example on Professional is $450/month base, realistically $700 to $900 all-in, against roughly $1,225 to $1,500 a month plus implementation for ServiceTitan Essentials. No free trial.
Where it beats ServiceTitan. Operator AI answers 24/7 in 30-plus languages, routes urgent keywords like “no heat” or “gas leak,” and books into the calendar. ClearPath standardizes the job flow from discovery to payment so every tech runs it the same way. Accounting coverage is the widest in the category, it is the rare FSM with a native GoHighLevel connection, and support scores 4.7/5 on Capterra. Sal Gutierrez of Fair Comfort Solutions says quoting went from four to eight hours to four to eight minutes.
Where it loses. Sales-gated pricing, no trial, and reviewers reporting price increases after year one without notice. “Recurring bugs and glitches” appears in about 47 percent of critical Capterra reviews and “unreliable syncing” in 88 percent of negative ones. Add-ons stack; one reviewer spent over $1,000 on them. Reporting sits well below the Marketing Scorecard.
Switch to FieldPulse if you run 3 to 30 techs across an odd mix of trades, need a multilingual receptionist, or run Xero or MYOB, and will negotiate written pricing before signing.

FieldEdge
Best for HVAC Service AgreementsFieldEdge, founded in 1980, is the most ServiceTitan-like in spirit: HVAC-first, with a serious flat-rate pricebook and membership tooling, for an established shop that can live without AI.
What it costs. Not published. Third-party reports put it around $100/month per office user and $125 per field tech, with setup fees of $500 to $2,000-plus and a mandatory 5-week onboarding. Our review’s 5-tech example (3 field, 2 office) is $575/month base and $7,400 to $8,900 all-in year one, against $24,700 to $43,000 year one for ServiceTitan Essentials at the same size. No free trial.
Where it beats ServiceTitan. Coolfront is the industry-standard flat-rate book for HVAC repair and it is bundled, the closest any alternative gets to Pricebook Pro. MarketingEdge automates maintenance-plan renewals, membership billing, and reminders; reviewers single it out as the flagship. Proposal Pro does good/better/best bidding. The QuickBooks sync is deep and bi-directional. Support is the strongest sub-score at 4.4/5 across 306 Capterra reviews.
Where it loses. No AI dispatcher, no AI receptionist, no announced AI roadmap. Persistent bugs show up in 55 percent of negative reviews, and sales overselling is a recurring complaint, so get feature commitments in writing. QuickBooks is a structural prerequisite, with W2 employees built there first, awkward for 1099-heavy shops. Coolfront’s benchmarks reportedly reflect 2022 pricing.
Switch to FieldEdge if you are an established 5 to 50 tech HVAC or plumbing shop on QuickBooks where service agreements are a third or more of revenue, and the pricebook matters more than AI.

Podium
Strongest AI Front Desk, Unproven FSMPodium is here because it now markets itself directly as a ServiceTitan replacement for 3-truck-plus residential shops, and the communication half of that pitch is real. It ranks last because the FSM half is months old and we have not tested it.
What it costs. Not published. Verified estimates put Core around $399/month (1 to 4 users, 2 locations) and Pro around $599 (unlimited users, 5 locations). Larry is included; the AI Membership Coordinator is a paid add-on, and processing fees are undisclosed. Annual contracts only, auto-renewing unless cancelled in writing 30 days before term end. If the FSM is truly included, a 6-tech shop pays Podium roughly what ServiceTitan charges for two techs.
Where it beats ServiceTitan. Larry answers 24/7, responds to web leads in about 60 seconds, quotes from your price book, and books onto Podium’s own dispatch board using real tech availability. The unified inbox and text-based review collection are the best in this group. Podium claims 10-to-14-day onboarding with contacts, job history, price book, and memberships migrated for you.
Where it loses. The FSM is new in 2026 and built by a communications company; job costing, inventory, purchase orders, and commercial billing are not mentioned. Cancellation is documented as difficult, with a BBB D- rating and unresolved billing complaints. And it is $399-plus on an annual lock, the exact structure you are trying to leave.
Switch to Podium only if after-hours lead capture is your biggest leak, you can tolerate being an early FSM customer, and you get the FSM-inclusive price and the ServiceTitan data migration in writing.
Side-by-Side: ServiceTitan vs the Alternatives
| Product | Starting price | Pricing model | Free trial | Best for | Our rating |

| Jobber | $39/mo | Flat tiers with user caps, +$29/user | 14 days | 1–8 trucks, fastest setup | 4.6 |
| Workiz | Sales-quoted (last published $225/mo) | Flat tiers with users included, then per user; AI add-ons separate | 7 days | 3–25 trucks wanting dispatch, phones, and AI answering | 4.6 |

Best Pick by Situation
1 to 3 trucks
Jobber. Core is $29/month for one user and Connect is $99 for five, both billed annually, and you will be running inside a week. Want free? Nothing on this list anymore; Workiz dropped its Lite tier in 2026, so Jobber Core is the floor.
4 to 10 trucks
Housecall Pro Essentials ($149 for 5 users) or MAX ($299 for 8) is the default. If missed calls are the bigger problem, Workiz Pro with the Genius Answering add-on (sales-quoted; Pro was last published at $325). Past 8 techs on QuickBooks, price out Service Fusion Plus at $325 flat.
HVAC or plumbing with service agreements
Housecall Pro’s Recurring Service Plans cover most shops. If memberships are a third or more of revenue and you want a real flat-rate book, FieldEdge bundles Coolfront and MarketingEdge.
Roofing or restoration
None of the seven. JobNimbus and AccuLynx are still purpose-built for insurance restoration. Read JobNimbus vs ServiceTitan and ServiceTitan vs AccuLynx instead.
You only hate the price
Service Fusion, then Workiz. Both keep the dispatch board, phones, and QuickBooks sync on a flat plan. Neither gives you a Marketing Scorecard; if you spend $5,000-plus a month on ads and live in it, you may not actually want to leave. GoHighLevel vs ServiceTitan covers the other route: a marketing brain plus a cheap FSM.
You need it live this month
Jobber (under a week), Workiz (days), or Housecall Pro (1 to 2 weeks). Podium claims 10 to 14 days with migration done for you, but that is Podium’s claim. Rule out FieldEdge (5 mandatory weeks) and FieldPulse (no trial, sales-led onboarding).
What Switching Actually Involves
Most of this is general guidance; where our reviews document a specific number, it is called out.
Get out of the contract cleanly. Our ServiceTitan review documents 12-month minimums, some shops pushed to 2 or 3 years, early termination fees of $5,000 to $20,000-plus, and 5 to 15 percent price increases after the initial term. Find your renewal date and notice window first and plan the cutover to land 30 to 60 days ahead of it. Give notice in writing.
Get your data out. ServiceTitan has a documented REST API covering jobs, customers, invoices, and dispatch events, per our review. In practice most shops pull customer lists, job history, and invoices as spreadsheet exports; get a full export before you give notice.
What moves. Customers, contact info, and equipment notes import into every platform here. Job history usually lands as a record on the customer, not a live timeline, so keep the export. Podium says it migrates contacts, job history, price book, and memberships for you; the other six do not document migration tooling in our reviews, so plan on CSV imports.
What you rebuild. The pricebook. ServiceTitan’s flat-rate book is structured data and it does not paste into anything. Housecall Pro takes Profit Rhino and The New Flat Rate libraries, FieldEdge ships Coolfront, the rest expect a price list import. Memberships and message templates get rebuilt too. Marketing Scorecard history, call recordings, and custom dashboards do not come with you; archive what you need before access ends.
Run both, then cut over. Book new jobs in the new system while closing out open ones in ServiceTitan; that is how you find the wrong tax rate and the tech who never installed the app. Jobber and Workiz go live in days, Housecall Pro in 1 to 2 weeks, Podium in 10 to 14 days by its own claim, FieldEdge in 5 weeks. Add a month of parallel running and pricebook rebuild, start 90 days before renewal, and a 4-to-10 truck shop will make it.
